Tribute To Al Vasquez, Claudia Suarez

Claudia Suarez

In our lifetime, we will come in contact and even build strong relationships with many successful people. They are found in all walks of life, business, industry and politics. Many times we think of successful people as the ambitious, motivated and driven types that are relentless in the pursuit for personal stardom. These characteristics, although admirable to many, are worthless if your values are compromised in the process. When I think of successful people that operated outside the norm according to societal standards, I think of Al Vasquez, who in my opinion should be the standard of success. Al reached the highest level of success not only as a professional, but as a human being.
Al Vasquez was an individual  who defined success differently. Al was soft spoken, but his words spoke volumes. His words were honest, thoughtful and direct. He always carried himself with genuine confidence and a calm demeanor. He achieved tremendous success, having worked under Presidents Richard Nixon and George H. W. Bush and later establishing a successful newspaper in the Coachella Valley alongside his wife, Ana Rascon. He was the voice and thoughts of many in the community. He had the courage to say the things that many of us were thinking but were unable to express and he did so without ever compromising his values and integrity. Although Al reached a high level of success in his professional and personal life, he was never above his fellow man. He was always available to offer a word of wisdom and give sensible advise to those of us trying to make our way.
I was highly fortunate to have met Al and Ana years ago. I was new to a job that could be divisive and at times frustrating. I knew that in order to grow and mature soundly, I needed to find a mentor, someone wise, with experience, knowledge, and good judgment. I found such a person in Al. I assume that he also sensed my need for direction since he came to my rescue even before I had the courage to ask. I knew that I could bring all of my concerns to him and he would always keenly listen before offering a response. There was nothing that Al had not seen or experienced or anything that scared him or caught him off guard. He always had a solution to a problem. There was nothing too big or too small. He always remained calm, cool and collected even in the midst of adversity.
Al was a man of integrity in and out of the public eye. Although his roar may have been mild in comparison to the usual roar of lions in the field, his bite was greater and more impactful than most. I truly admired him, not only as a professional, but a human being. His wise and sensible nature will be missed. The Coachella Valley has suffered a great loss, but heaven has gained a star.
I was lucky to call him friend.

To the Hispanic Community of Indio, CA and the entire Coachella Valley, CA.
My most sincere gratitude to Mr. Al Vásquez,
I met Mr. Al Vásquez through his wife and my friend Ana Rascón, both of La Prensa Hispana, of the city of Indio, CA.
For a long time, Mr. Al and his wife Ana Rascón de Vasquez have been staunch supporters of tourism events in the city of Mexicali. They have given their support to events, activities, fairs, exhibits and expositions celebrated throughout the city of Mexicali. Mr. Al organized the press conferences, the interviews with the news media in the Valley of Coachella, CA, and other important cities in addition to Indio, such as Palm Springs, and others in the vicinity.
Their support has been significant and important for promoting and increasing foreign tourism in our city. Thanks to them Mexicali realized a notable increase in tourism. Further, the relations between Mexicali, Indio, and the entire Coachella Valley were greatly enhanced and benefitted.
It has been a great pleasure and satisfaction to have worked with such a kind, peaceful, cordial, and very respectful human being. Further, he was characterized for his natural leadership abilities in his community, always supporting the economic and social wellbeing of the communities he served.
They invited us to participate in various conferences and events in the city of Indio, Palm Springs in order to promote our city of Mexicali. But we were also fortunate to welcome them here in Mexicali and give them our support with the Latin Film Festival. At that time, we inaugurated the new facilities of the Mexicali Cineapolis. Throughout that event we felt adorned with so many renown artists, the quality of the films, and above all the excellent organization led by Al and his team at every step of the way. It was a wonderful experience for them as well as for the Mexicali community.
Personally, I am deeply grateful for the support I was given when I was granted the unique recognition of International Ambassador for the year 2008, together with other outstanding personalities in their own community and in Mexicali.
I believe Mr. Al Vásquez left us a great example to follow as a human being, as leader of his community, and a great promoter, and outstanding host. Above all, for his interest in enhancing the relationship between the border cities of Baja California, particularly, Mexicali and the Coachella, Valley, CA.
I reiterate my support and friendship to my dear friend Ana Rascón. I thank you for allowing me to express my feelings in this space, to have known you and your husband as exceptional persons. May God reward Al Vázquez for his great and outstanding works and illumine the path he left for us to follow.
Sincerely,  Lic.

Atentamente, Lic. Patricia Hernández Mota

What Would Al Do?
In community leadership, your opinion is taken very seriously and there will always be critics. The fear of criticism often stops people from sharing their opinion when it’s not the popular opinion.
Al Vasquez did not fear this criticism, he welcomed it. He was never afraid to debate and always happy to hear other opinions. I admired his courage. As a writer, he wrote with confidence and was never afraid to express his opinion. He always wrote with grace and leadership. He was very thoughtful in his remarks and left his readers interested in more.
I moved to the Coachella Valley in 2009 and continued my work in the community through the California State Assembly. As I networked, I met many community leaders who worked to make the Coachella Valley a better place. I was introduced to Al and Ana Vasquez by a close friend. Al was the quiet one and Ana is the fiery one. It was great conversing with them because there was never a dull moment.
I was so shocked to hear of Al’s passing. There was no one else that I met like Al. He was kind, soft spoken and very knowledgeable about the issues and history of the community.  The memories of our conversations came to mind.  I feel so thankful and humbled to always have his undivided attention during those conversations. No matter what was happening around us, Al was very focused on our conversations and always had something very insightful a comprehensive that would guide my opinions. I knew I could go to Al when there were issues in the community, I knew I would get an honest, intriguing response.
When I felt challenged in sharing my opinions, I often thought, “What would Al do?”
I would like to follow Al’s lead in sharing my opinion and not judging those who disagree, to not be afraid of what others think about your opinion, and that my opinion matters. I would like to challenge our community to follow his lead and debate the issues that will make the Coachella Valley a better place for future generations. Our opinions will shape our community and all opinions should be heard. He will be missed by our community, but he will always be remembered.
Thank you to Ana for giving me this opportunity to pay tribute to Al. Your strength and dedication will keep his legacy alive.

No he conocido a nadie  como Al.

Al Vasquez, Thank You
The passing of Al Vasquez last November saddened many in the Coachella Valley as he was an inspirational individual, and a guiding light within the Hispanic Community.  Al and wife Ana published La Prensa Hispana the only bilingual newspaper in the Coachella Valley. It’s a wonderful publication and continues to this day.
Al was an unassuming individual, you wouldn’t know that he was the publisher of a newspaper, that he served as a United States Marine, worked for the US Department of Commerce, earned a degree in Economic Development, or that he was a registered Republican.
I cannot say I knew Al Vasquez well, but on occasion we shared a meal and conversation at local functions.  Through Al I came to understand that Hispanics are more aligned to conservative values than often thought.  And, this was Al’s mission in publishing La Prensa Hispana.  He wanted Hispanics to know that via their own culture, they are conservative. Their faith, connection to Catholicism, work ethic, and commitment to family, are typically conservative.
Like many conservatives Al was quite concerned about immigration, but from a very human point of view.  At one particular luncheon we talked at length about our current immigration system and what it would take to improve the system.  Al opened my eyes to the real challenges with immigration, all starting with challenges on the Mexico side of the border.
I remember him clearly saying, “The immigration system is broken alright, but not so much here in the US.”  He went on to inform me of the serious crimes committed against those trying to reach the US from Mexico.  The crimes of murder, rape, human trafficking, sex trafficking and extortion.  We think we have problems here in the US, not so much!  Al would tell you that the border is a dangerous and polluted place.
As Americans we can sit back and complain about President Trump and building the wall.  But the reality is, building an impenetrable barrier, will save lives and diminish the crimes previously mentioned. The truth is, “the wall,” values life.
Finally, if Al were here I think he would say, do you want to embrace liberalism, open borders and vicious crimes against the innocent.  Or, will you take a more conservative stand, consider the greater good, and the protection of those desiring to cross the southern border.
Al Vasquez was a pillar in our Coachella Valley and is missed greatly.

UU., ¡No tanto!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Al Vasquez at an East Valley Republican Women Federated luncheon, where he was the guest speaker. I recall being surprised by the fact that he was a conservative Hispanic man, who was not only a Republican; he was also an associate member of East Valley Republican Women Federated! For years, I had been under the impression that Hispanics were Liberal-Democrats, so I was full of anticipation, wondering what topic he would be speaking about that day.
I wanted to ask, but he started asking me about “my” background instead. I explained that growing up, my family had followed the cantaloupe harvest every summer and that we were referred to as “Fruit Tramps”. Al said that “Fruit Tramps” helped feed the world and that I should always be proud of that title.
Al passionately spoke that day about his deep concerns regarding the decline of the great nation that he so proudly served, and how apathy among the people was about to bring our once powerful country to it’s knees. He spoke lovingly about the Hispanic community and how important it was for our group of Republican ladies to support families in the East Valley. Explaining that their family values are much like ours and said now is the time to reach further out to our neighbors in need, and work together.
Al Vazquez believed that Hispanic values are Republican values. Before his untimely death, he certainly did as much as he possibly could to support his people and inspired many Republicans to do their part. Al was a talented communicator who’s vision for a better future for all is making a difference.
The Galilee Center was one of his favorite charities and officially opened earlier this year. I sincerely hope his beloved Hispanic people who are our friends and neighbors will honor him by voting in the June 5 primary election. Please come by or call Republican Headquarter in La Quinta for voters information and conversation with like-minded people.

This is the time of year when High School Seniors are given Scholarships for achievements made throughout their 4 years of High School.  Many don’t know what they will study or become, many are certain that they will go on with what they have found to be close to their heart.
Several years back one of our members, Mr. Al Vasquez, started asking me about our Scholarship Program at East Valley Republican Women.  He began attending the June meeting which is when we gave out the numerous Scholarships to the East Valley High Schools.  One day he asked me what I thought about La Prensa Hispana Newspaper giving a Scholarship for a student studying journalism.  I thought it was a wonderful idea.  And so that Scholarship was established.
If Al was here now, I know his advice to these children starting their continuing education to reach their goal would be to not surrender to the fray.  In journalism especially, we have been overrun with fake news on a daily basis and those proponents of this kind of news will and must find that they, by not telling the truth, could change history.  “God is in charge, not man...the truth must be told no matter who or what ends up on top”, I can hear Al’s voice so easily explaining why the journalist must be unbiased and straight forward....why he must tell only the truth and tell both sides of the story.  In  our society today we have so many ways to get our message out and unfortunately, many times our message is not reasonably taken.  That is why all the intricate parts of the story revolve around the good journalist who does the work, all the work that is needed to give the audience the truth.
This year we will miss Al giving out the La Prensa Hispana Scholarship in Journalism but I personally know, with all that is in me, that Al Vasquez will be beside us sending his smile to cheer us on!

I was so surprised when I learned of Al’s passing.   It seemed sudden, at least to me. Al was a friend, and served our area as a professional news man and commentator.  He was also our  go to guy for Republicans in the Hispanic community. however he was always fair minded in all his political remarks even though he was a conservative and a Republican, he still showed respect to all and for all in his commentaries and at events all over the Valley.
He never said no, he always was there to offer help when and if he could.  He served on the General Patton Museum board  and was a dedicated supporter of our veterans and the museum.
He was the epitome of taste and dressed and acted as a gentlemen.  I think maybe RESPECT is what he truly valued, for himself and others and it was apparent in all he did.   We were so fortunate to have known him for the time we did and to be able to share his ideas and thoughts while the museum was growing.  And he was supportive of our youth...one time I asked him to please acknowledge one of the soccer teams in the Valley, and he took photos and did a nice story that all the members were so proud to be featured.   Al Vasquez took time to shake the hand and smile with everyone, peasant or prince, and we were all the better for having known him and sharing a small slice of his life.   He will be dearly missed.

Nunca dijo “no”.

Each one of us leaves a legacy, as we go through life.  At times we think about, “What will I be remembered for? Will I leave this world a better place?” For my friend, Al Vasquez, these are questions that can be easily answered by those of us who were honored and privileged to have known him.
I met Al and his wife Ana, many years ago, when I was employed at Desert Sands Unified School District. They were the owners of La Prensa Hispana Newspaper.  The School District could always count on Al giving space in his newspaper for student events.  He was very supportive of Desert Sands Unified School District.
Al was an outstanding person for whom his wife Ana and family were first and the community second.  If I were to describe Al, I would say that he was an honest man of integrity, great ethics and family values, who always looked impeccable, carried himself with dignity, was strong yet soft-spoken, eloquent, knowledgeable and polite. It’s difficult to imagine one person having all these traits, but if you knew Al, you know that this is true.
Al is gone, but he will always be remembered for the great person he was and everything he did for the community by serving on many community boards, putting on Indio’s International Film Festival and the International Hispanic Awards; the coveted “SOL AZTECA”.
When we lost Al, the community lost a great cheerleader and advocate.  There is no question, that the world is a better place because of Al Vasquez.  Job well done, Al!  May you Rest in Peace, my friend.

A veces pensamos, “¿Qué quedará y será recordado?
¡Trabajo bien hecho, Al!  Que descanses en paz, mi amigo.

Tribute To Al Vasquez, Salvador Piña

I met Al Vasquez during my work as a Riverside County sheriff’s sergeant assigned to the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District.  This team of sheriff’s deputies, community Service officers, school resource officers and corporals, was designed to help the agricultural community, it’s workers, school kids and the community in general.
Al and his wife Ana, immediately took an interest in helping to promote the team efforts by assisting the team in recruiting children to join the yearly team sponsored youth camps. Al and Ana owned and published La Prensa Hispana, which was the most important supporter of the efforts to keep kids in school and out of trouble.  They wrote about the team duties which were focused on preventing crime by making these 12 to 15-year-old kids our friends.
Al also sponsored the Hispanic Film festival in Indio to draw attention to small film projects aimed at promoting the arts and encourage young persons to participate in community events. Al never expected praise, yet he gave all that he could to educate everyone about the importance of a good formal education, encouraging young people to stay in school and stay on track.
Al supported the Sheriff’s department and its crime prevention efforts by offering to help the department in reporting events or the progress of major crimes affecting the Hispanic community.  He also supported our leadership and was a friend of our current sheriff, Stan Sniff.  Al was a member of the Hispanic Chamber of commerce and once invited Sheriff Stan Sniff to give his views on the Sheriff’s role in our Hispanic community. The event was well received by attendees, including local mayors and community leaders.
When I retired from the Riverside sheriff’s department in 2005, Al and Ana continued to be my friends and I would visit their office often.  I later worked for Union Pacific Railroad police and Al also gave me his full unconditional support in my new job. Al was a Marine who supported the good and voiced his opinion about the things he saw needed change.  Al’s efforts to make this world better were accomplished by making everyone think about where we are going and how we can better provide for our families by having a good education.
Al may not be with us today, but he will always be with all of us in spirit.  He affected my family, by his personality and good-natured self, by encouraging them to help others.  One of my daughters organized a large one-day event, a conference on empowering Hispanic high school girls.  That presentation included District attorneys, probation officers and my daughter, the District Attorney Forensic Technician was the primary coordinator.  The conference was aimed at promoting these jobs for the young Latinas, showing them, all could be achieved with their efforts and support of people like Al Vasquez. Al’s support for our community affected my daughters and my family in general by making them willing to support the less fortunate by volunteering at a local homeless kitchen.
Al Vasquez’ outlook on life was helping others by using the tools he owned at La Prensa Hispana, his life experience as a businessman and a descent person with a good heart.  Al demanded nothing in return for his contributions to our community but gave all he had.   God will reward Al, as his good deeds are reviewed in heaven.

Undermining American Values

Al Vasquez Opinion Journalist. www.thehispanicvoice.com

What is the point of having a government with the capacity for multiple facets of investigation all funneled through the litmus test of party politics? The absurd has always been the point of departure for politicians intent on manipulating the truth, turning it into a game of “gotcha”. Findings of wrong doing by liberal/progressive establishment politicos are systematically ignored by mainstream media. If on the surface deeds suggest conservative politicians in a corrupt, antisocial or against our national interest, over-kill by Media is mandatory.
For this Republican administration it is virtually impossible to take themselves out as investigated subjects. You have a national party opposition with diametrically opposed national goals. Whether the issue involves the FBI, IRS, Department of Justice, State Department, the military, Homeland Security, Department of Labor or the Secretary of State, Democrats including Obama have their finger in every political crevice. The traditional abstention of criticism by the immediate former president is not only being violated, it has become the ploy. The ploy to disrupt and invalidate any change of Obama policy, foreign or social being considered. Democrats are adamant about eternalizing the Obama legacy instead of considering the welfare of the nation.
The vast majority of department heads who did not leave upon the Trump transition were put in place by Obama. Seventeen hundred still remain, loyalty to Obama is a prime requisite. FBI director, Comey, admitted there were gross violations by Hillary, Obamas Secretary of State, 32,000 emails were intentionally deleted and secret documents exposed. Evidence which would send any one of us to prison for decades, simply white washed by the Commander in Chief (Obama) and his investigative network. As Commander in Chief and avid Hillary supporter, Obama declared ominously months before the investigative conclusion, “there is nothing there”. Was this code talk of what he expected any FBI investigation to conclude? Appointees are not stupid, they know who butters their bread!
The Trump win was the result of “our nation”, needing to take ownership. Readjusting our sights. Democrats are making every effort to paint Trump as a purveyor of the absurd and disseminator of rhetoric of despair. Trump has been right on every issue! It is the status quo politicians from both parties who resent the honesty. Ask yourself why? The reason seems to be “themselves”. These politicians from both sides of the isle have learned to live by deception to secure their party goals. Party takes priority over the well being of US, the nation.
The idea voters are only interested in themselves, as the deciding factor of who to vote for comes from the puerile notion we have inherited about the political process.
Democrats firmly believe voters: black, Latino, woman, gay or poor, give little credit to the fact millions of American citizens actually care for “the nation”. Freedom minded voters are more concerned with our countries direction, our self defense posture, our economy, our freedoms and preserving our republic.
Today, we have the killing of cops for doing their duty, the hatred towards the military for wanting to protect our nation, the diluted value of our currency, the insistence we should accept those wanting to vanquish our society into our midst, the rise of taxes, billions of tax dollar give aways to Islamic nations. Nations who will take gladly and give NOTHING in return.
The inherent problems of a lack of leadership, the inherent problems of not safeguarding our nation and the inherent problems of having absolutely no foresight for self preservation drove millions towardsTrump. Perhaps the only solution is to turn the corner but be aware of the fact the entire political liberal establishment is intent on preventing you from turning the wheel.
There is an entire societal army who has decided for you, they have decided to maintain course until the entire essence of our Republic is vanquished, eliminated and replaced by what to many looks very much like socialism, followed in close order by welcomed Muslim extremists already in our midst.
While ISIS dogs us as a foreign, deadly threat in our midst, Black Lives Matter dog us as homegrown riotous discomfort. Both are prophets of the absurd. The decline of American honor was not a prediction, it is already here. It IS time to readjust our sights. BLM, dwelling on negative national memories of the past will prevent advances as a United nation.

“Veterans, Suicides, Doctors & Treatment”

Al Vasquez Opinion Journalist. www.thehispanicvoice.com

For every suicide by a Veteran’s Administration (VA) cared for, treated veteran there are two vets not under VA care. That, according to President Donald Trump’s appointee to head the VA – Dr. David Shulkin – is a top priority of his new job.
“Losing,” Dr. Shulkin told U.S. Senators, “even one veteran to suicide is unacceptable, which is why suicide prevention is a top priority at VA.”
Dr. Shulkin’s nomination surprised many for the simple reason that he was already serving as the VA’s Undersecretary of Health appointed by and serving under – President Barack Obama.
President Obama brought him in to rescue the VA from impotence and bad management. Veterans were dying every day because they couldn’t get treatment from the 360,000 employee VA. It is one of the largest health organizations in the world.
The entire U.S. Senate, all 100 Senators, voted to confirm Dr. Shulkin as President Trump’s VA Secretary.
He is responding in kind. So is Congress.
The VA, he says, provides “a different model of care, which treats the physical along with the psychological, the social and the economic aspects of health, all of which contribute to the well-being of the patient.”
Perhaps VA Secretary Shulkin is embarking the department on a new treatment paradigm, a paradigm of more treatment, more effective treatment, new treatments all under a new management.
Further he says, “We (the VA) should focus on the things veterans need us to focus on and work with companies that know how to do (health systems) better than we do.”
Perhaps the best known phrase that came out of our decade-long Vietnam War experience was – THE “THOUSAND YARD STARE.” It is a blank look that manifests a detachment from surroundings and people that chills witnesses.
There is a large population of veterans that have served in combat that have “thousand yard” stares; mental health professionals have attached a name to the stare and what it represents: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, “PTSD.”
The VA estimates that as many as 30 percent of Vietnam War veterans suffer from “PTSD.” Vietnam Era vets, now in their 60s and 70s require more and more treatment by the VA health system. No one can even guess how many Iraq/Afghanistan vets suffer from “PTSD.”
Can the VA handle a “crush” of new “PTSD” sufferers that need treatment? There isn’t a “pill” that treats “PTSD.” Other means must be used. There aren’t enough mental health professionals to work with such veterans, nor enough dollars to fund them. The VA employs over a third of a million people, how many more can it hire?
Physical and mental trauma experienced daily by many Americans also causes PTSD, not just war.
Good news. A new treatment is inching its way into treatment for “PTSD” and no, it isn’t yoga or meditation at a Tibetan monastery. Can the VA use this new treatment to help thousands of PTSD victims?
Speaking as a “rough, tough” former United States Marine any treatment that includes music, meditation, relaxation and soft lighting seems “touchy and feely” but…there is evidence a high tech combination of all those items seem to help some people with PTSD.
Dr, Shulkin: It’s called “Blu Room” therapy. One might say it is a form of “safe space.” The treatment is non-invasive, requires no special clothing, or professional treatment by doctors or psychologists and only takes 20 minutes a session.
One wonders why the VA isn’t using the technique in heavy veteran lived-in areas like California, Texas, et al. Is it cost or lack of desire? Dr. Shulkin has himself announced that the two worst areas of VA treatment efficiency is in Tennessee and Texas. That’s where this treatment should be implemented immediately.
Results of “Blu Room” use is the true test of the treatment not cost. Dale Vaughn is a Vietnam veteran who has suffered from nightmares for years. He has been formally diagnosed with PTSD.
Another vet, Cynthia Williams-Patnoe, served as a pilot in Afghanistan; her problem was not caused by combat but by a pick-up truck that hit her causing brain trauma that required extensive physical and speech therapy treatments.
Both of these vets say they have benefited from Blu Room treatment. Studies from UCLA and John Hopkins University suggest positive results from such treatments, touchy feely or not.
Dr. Shulkin believes that the VA needs to go outside for private enterprise solutions and treatments; so do we.
Budgets, desire and new treatments are the metrics we need to handle the coming deluge of Iraq and Afghanistan vets with PTSD -- they need Dr. Shulkin and us to help them.

Fight for American Honor

Al Vasquez Opinion Journalist. www.thehispanicvoice.com

I was stunned, leading up to this last election by the similarity between Mexican thought, Democrat thought and recalcitrant Republicans thought. Their attitude has not changed. It is and has always been “anyone but Trump”. As Americans we have always believed thinking was our specialty. What has happened in the past eight years to allow a great portion of our nation to become so naively politically correct? For eight years, our American leadership under Obamas hand excelled in fawning, we allowed retro grades and foreign nations to spell out who America is and where America is free to go. A complete political obscenity labeled by progressives as “new age thinking”, instead of what it really is, abdication of international leadership.
It is understandable to hear Democrats slamming the Republican president but to hear the establishment, leadership of conservative Republicans singing chorus with Democrats and Mexican leadership does not boggle the mind, it totally disgusts the political soul. The transition in this election has shown the fractured elements of the Republican Party. We can see the raw components of the mental positioning. What we cannot see is any formation of essential unity to be able to keep conservatives hopes alive. The “I am more conservative than you” philosophy dictating stances in particular the ObamaCare issue amongst Republicans is detrimental to the party. Holier than thou only works for the Pope, sporadically!
Issues are slowly forming designed to fragment the Republicans by issues. Disturbing to some, issues such as securing our borders is macabre? What is so asinine with America deciding who enters and in particular stays in our country? It is not politically correct to say “illegals”, we must say “undocumented”. No one wants to see these undocumented millions suffer. But the obvious problem is, we as Americans will inevitably suffer from overburden, crime or terrorism. In 1986 when the Simpson-Mazzoli immigration reform bill was passed the border was to be secured. There was never any effort made and today we are back to square one only the numbers have quadrupled.
Perhaps as Americans we have a revulsion for truth. Passive Americans would rather chastise Trump than look into the the facts of what he says. Israel in the heart of the badlands created a barrier, normally called a fence. That is the only way Israel has managed to survive in the midst of hell. To protect the faint hearted, we must never mention fence, we must call it a barrier. Millions of households have security fences, including the White House. Are they bigots? Apparently so based on current attitudes. Perhaps we are also bigots simply because we lock our doors at night. The majority of Americans are not as stupid as they advocate. We give ourselves ample reason to guard who comes into our house but yet we pretend our nation is not our house.
Today we have cultures arriving besides South Americans who have no intention of assimilating. They arrive with no desire of becoming like us. They have every intention of changing our entire culture to reflect theirs. The culture they are escaping from is what they build in our backyard. Their religion, their manner of dress, their disrespect for humanity, their willingness to enslave you, are not negotiable. And, the pretend fence we now have guarding our border is a joke, a joke condoned, encouraged and defended by every politically correct Democrat or Republican who believes we can “will”ourselves to be loved by human kind simply by being vulnerable. History has blessed us with multiple advantages of multiculturalism. But, we have always insisted on a cultural/linguistic unity we are now willing to abandon. America is becoming more and more diverse, multiracial, multiethnic and socialist in many aspects. Socialism or Mohamed-ism is no longer sneaking in the rear door, our leaders for eight years invited them in, fed them monetarily internationally and turned a blind eye towards savage anti American behaviors. It is no longer a Republican or Democrat issue, it is an America issue. Minds have been awakened. Just remember, American honor cannot be taken from you, it must be relinquished. In today’s world, Donald Trump represents and speaks for that very special American virtue. We as Americans beneath all the political hocus focus hold patriotism dear to our heart.

Thoughts to Ponder

Al Vasquez Opinion Journalist. www.thehispanicvoice.com

In years past, colleges and universities had as their main goal, churning out brilliant minds, offering substantial value for their investment. In today’s higher education system in the United States, universities are concentrating on bending minds. Molding brain cells to conform with the institutions version of a liberal/progressive cultural rite of passage. A philosophy bordering on Socialism. Students minds are forged into place, into a liberal mindset, intolerant of conservative values and obedient to the thought of the brain washed masses. This is a key reason major portions of our society, inclusive of mainstream media think alike, reject conservative thought, coddle those of their like minds, excoriate contrary visions and confront, any worthwhile idea “foreign to them”. Any thoughts of opening their eyes to explore updated versions of the truth is quickly squashed, ridiculed and cast aside. Ninety eight percent of college or university professors are self declared Democrats. There is no longer any attempt to camouflage their ultra liberal politics.
Political leaders of today, most of them products of these higher learning institutions become leaders in the liberal mainstream party and are proponents of preserving their status quo. The results are evident. We tolerated eight years of Obama incompetence, eight years of wavering, wandering through dozens of illogical conclusions and attempts to rewrite history, change the present and obliterate the American concept of a free nation. For progressives, this was and continues to be a prime objective.
Susan Rice an Obama cabinet level appointee recently admitted after numerous denials she was involved in the electronic spying on Trump staff at the Trump Tower using government equipment, government agencies, government funds and a clear agenda meant to dominate an apposing political party. Her outing of names, is a felony, and leaking the information gathered to the mainstream media for any reason but particularly political gain is highly illegal, an abuse of power so dangerous as to border on a Chavista or Hitlarian psychosis. The FBI which would be the lead investigative agency is questionably silent on the issue and seems determined to stir any question regarding the issue into the same trash-bag they swept away Benghazi and the 31,000 classified Hillary Clinton emails sent through unsecured not-approved servers. Even sexual pervert Anthony Weiner received copies, but Comey, Director of the FBI cannot seem to find them. Comey should ask Weiner for transcript and copies.
The recent obsession of Democrats led by Obama attempting to link President Trump to the Russians has taken priority and is providing the necessary space to dump countless legally questionable investigate-able items.
Not even the highly successful bombing of the air base in Syria launched by Trump, which destroyed aspects of Syrian Dictator Assad’s air field was sufficient to unite the parties.
Chemical war-fare is a war crime but it takes a willing congress to fully address this new ominous direction being explored by dictators in waiting. The bombing sent a strong message to Dictator Assad and mellows out the frustration millions of Trump supporters see as an inevitable part of the Trump presidency. By any standard, the military mission was a success and a good portion of Trump detractors were forced to acknowledge.
Republican leaders are still splintered, unable to decide if to go for an amendable health care bill or wait for a unanimous decision. Unlikely! In the meantime these Republican conservatives continue to play footsie with Shumer and Pelosie. Hopefully they will soon see the folly of defeating themselves. With a supposed conservative majority now sitting on the Supreme Court, now is the time to set aside political hurt feelings and advance the Republican Party agenda.
America is at a crossroad, we have a president who can be unapologetically aggressive surrounded by politicians many in his own party totally involved in systemic manipulation in a desperate attempt to maintain their status quo. We all get immersed in our familiarity bubble and come to believe it is the real world. It is not and it is due time our elected Republican representatives start seeing the reality of how quickly we can again become the minority party. Standing against the constitution has now become a democrat stance. How can America accept that? For many Republicans, the purpose of life is to find your purpose. Saving our constitution and our American way of life should be a hell-of- an incentive.

Deny, Deceive and Extinguish

American voters have been trained to accept deception. A dangerous path for maintaining democracy. In centuries past we have learned deception leads to unprincipled rulers, undeterred power and decades of political control of the masses. A decadence brought about by spoonfuls of unchallenged lies, unparalleled shading of truth and a willing acceptance by our once protectors of truth, mainstream media. Media has abandoned its responsibility allowing political debris and white washed chicanery as credible news. In actuality, media is covering up and proliferating a anti American values agenda. Liberal politicians prone to taking command in a relentless search for power have mainstream media as their allies. What media gains is a cozy relationship, spoon feeding liberal agenda news, willingly acting as a conduit instead of the filter of deceit.

Republicans Unite Against Trump

The electorate is discovering Republicans do not need a opposition party. They are their own opposition, handing President Trump his first defeat. Trump is choosing to see a potential positive spin and bettering the American Health Bill. At least 31 Republicans the likes of Ted Cruz, Rand Paul Jim Jordan (R) Ohio a Kascich compadre pulled all the stops, held together and sided with Democrats, Chuck Shumer and Nancy Pelosi. The 3 phase Republican replacement plan came down to a Republican defeat instigated by Freedom Caucus Republicans. At least 31 so called “REPUBLICANS” made a pact they would keep Planned Parenthood, ObamaCare and hand Trump his first legislative defeat. Gleefully they marched off the legislative cliff proud of the fact they defeated themselves, their party, and the Republican electorate. Freedom Caucus Republicans have evolved into a slime ball of anti logic mush that pits winning against their whining.
Republicans won the controlling power in Congress and the Senate but, quickly banded together to ascertain the Trump agenda would fail, boosting Shumer/Pelosi. It is inconceivable we elected a Republican majority and despite the appearance of astuteness they have hoodwinked mainstream Republicans into believing they would represent party loyalist and knew how to play the political game.
